  • Deadline approaching for two ACCA leadership positions

    Time is growing short for commissioners who would like to be considered for two key leadership positions in ACCA – second vice president and minority director. The necessary form is available in Convention Notes, and it must be returned no later than July 18.


    Insurance-related training update

    County administrators and safety coordinators – please note that the ACCA Self-Insurance Funds will not offer training classes at the ACCA Annual Convention this year. Training information is online.  Additionally, please note that training for deputies will be held in August and September.  We are firming up the dates and times with the regional trainers and will post them ASAP.  If you have any questions about the insurance-related training for the Safety Incentive Discount Program, contact Henry van Arcken at


    Candidate forum promises full slate

    The Afternoon General Session on Thursday, Aug. 21, at the ACCA Annual Convention will kick off with a candidates forum for the state’s top three constitutional officers. The Democratic and Republican nominees for governor, lieutenant governor and attorney general have all confirmed that they will address ACCA members. Have you registered yet?


    NACo honors Russell County

    Congratulations to officials and staff in Russell County who worked hard to make your first Citizens Academy a success! The county has been awarded the 2014 Achievement Award from NACo, and the extra efforts to create presentations and work in the evenings has also drawn notice at home. There are citizens lining up to be part of the next academy!
