The cost is $35/player.  If you would like to play, email Jennifer Datcher ( by Friday.  The tournament is May 13 at Glenlakes Golf Club in Foley. Policy Team work continues

Many thanks to everyone who served on an ACCA Policy Team in preparation for and during the 2014 Regular Session of the Alabama Legislature! Your time and input made a big impact during the session. ACCA staff members will likely continue to contact you during the implementation phase of new laws, and new issues are already emerging at both the state and federal levels where your involvement can make a difference.

    Retiree bonus resolution

Legislation passed this year (Act 2014-429) would allow counties to provide a one-time bonus to retirees in October. Only retirees who began receiving benefits before Oct. 1, 2013, would be eligible, and the law specifies that the bonus must be $2 per month for each month of service or $300, whichever is greater. To participate, counties must opt in by resolution before Sept. 1. The county must bear the cost of the lump sum payment, and RSA has calculated these cost estimates for county participation. RSA typically has a specific resolution that it wants participating counties to use, and ACCA will forward it as soon as it is available.

    ACCA office closed today

Due to the state holiday, the ACCA office will be closed today. It will reopen Tuesday morning.
