  • SIDP Required Training Deadline Approaching!

    Seats for the required Safety Incentive Discount Program Training are filling up fast and there are several counties that have yet to register. The registration deadline is Wednesday, September 17th. Attendance at the Safety Coordinator Training and the Public Officials/Administrative Training is required every year. To qualify for the Safety Incentive Discount, counties should send their county-appointed Safety Coordinator to the Safety Coordinator Training and at least one supervisor from the commission and each of the main departments, i.e. Sheriff’s Office, Jail, Road & Bridge, etc… who has the authority to hire, discipline and terminate employees to the Public Officials/Administrative Training.     Class schedule for commissioners announced

    The Alabama Local Government Training Institute has announced the class schedule for 2014-15, which kicks off with orientation for newly elected commissioners Dec. 2-3 in Montgomery. All the required courses will be offered, plus electives on personnel administration and liability. Whether you are working to complete the mandated program or want to go for the optional graduate-level program, take a look and see what you want to put on your calendar.


    Engineers: ACEA webinar this Thursday

    The Alabama Jail Association’s fall training conference is Oct 21-24 in Orange Beach.     Enjoy 2014 prices while they last

    With the county fiscal year drawing to a close, there’s still time to buy heavy equipment, road signs and herbicides through the County Joint Bid Program if you’ve got funds left in the budget. The current prices in the County Joint Bid Program will be available through Dec. 31, and invitations to bid have just gone out for next year’s items.
