  • ACCA Liability Self-Insurance Fund Renewals
The declarations pages and invoices for the 2014 ACCA Liability Self-Insurance Fund Year will be mailed to fund members on Tuesday, Dec. 3.  Premium contributions are due Jan. 1 and are considered overdue if not paid by Jan. 31.  If any fund member has not received a liability renewal packet by Friday, Dec. 6, please contact Henry van Arcken at hvanarcken@alabamacounties.org or 334-263-7594.

ONE SPOT support for self-administered counties
The Alabama Department of Revenue has begun weekly conference calls to help self-administered counties with the ONE SPOT system. The calls are Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m., using conference call number 1-888-658-5269 and meeting room number 857112#. Questions may be submitted in advance to onespot@revenue.alabama.gov. ADOR will start the conference calls off each week by going over the emails that were received and then open it up for any questions or further discussion. Counties using the department for collections should contact the ADOR directly.

    Mark your calendars
Engineers, please start making plans to send staff members to the Road Supervisors Training on Jan. 27 and 28 in Prattville. There will be a special track on the second day for the safety coordinators within the road and bridge department.

    Inmate state-to-state calls
The Federal Communications Commission’s cap on inmate calling rates for state-to-state calls goes into effect Feb. 11, though there are some attempts to delay it. ACCA remains concerned that the regulations lump all correctional facilities – state and local – together and that the next step will be to set a similar cap for in-state calls.

    ACEA board to meet Thursday
This is just a reminder that members of the ACEA board need to RSVP to Sallie Gowan by noon today if they plan to attend the board meeting Thursday.
