    The Alabama Emergency Management Agency is hosting the Governor’s Preparedness Conference March 31- April 4 in Montgomery. The event is designed to bring together local, state and federal partners to prepare for the next disaster or emergency while building a comprehensive network that ensures all understand their key role in the process of managing an emergency. 

    County attorneys can earn required CLE credit for county-focused courses
    The Alabama State Bar has again approved most 2014 County Government Education Institute classes for CLE credit. These classes are well-suited to county attorneys because they focus on the unique legal issues counties face. 

    Prison renovations affect county jails
    There has been a modest increase in the number of state inmates in county jails past the court-imposed 30-day limit. The cause is renovations at two Alabama Department of Corrections facilities, which should be completed in a couple of months. ACCA will continue to monitor the situation. 

    Check the revised schedule for County Days @ the Legislature
    Lawmakers are planning a compressed schedule for the 2014 Regular Session, which required ACCA to make some changes to the schedule for County Days @ the Legislature. Please check the revised schedule and mark your calendars to join us in Montgomery!
