  • County jail resources coming
The ACCA Self-Insurance Liability Fund will provide members with sample policies and procedures for the county jail in the coming weeks addressing inmate suicide, inmate medical screening and inmate medical care. These policies are recommended by the ACCA liability fund and should be carefully reviewed by the county and sheriff.

    Help with bill tracking
Though the legislative session doesn’t begin until tomorrow, ACCA is already busily analyzing legislation. ACCA bills are being loaded on the ACCA Legislation page of our website. Additionally, bills of interest to the various affiliate groups are available through the Bill Tracking page. Questions? Contact Sallie Gowan.

Team up to work legislative committees
Can you help with ACCA’s legislative effort by serving on one of our Legislative Committee Teams?  We are looking for volunteers willing to be “on call” to contact members of designated legislative committees about important county issues scheduled to be considered by the committee. If you didn’t sign up for a team at a district meeting, please fill out this form and return it to Mary Pons.

    New campaign finance laws
If you are running for office in the 2012 election cycle, there are new reporting requirements, which include requiring you to file weekly campaign finance reports. For more information, visit the secretary of state’s website.
