  • State of Alabama Governor’s Preparedness Conference
    The Alabama Emergency Management Agency has a stellar agenda for this four-day conference that starts March 31. The line-up features Gov. Robert Bentley and Lt. Paul Vance from the Connecticut State Police, who will speak about crisis communication during the Sandy Hook Elementary shooting tragedy, plus dozens of other state and national experts. The conference will be located at the Renaissance Montgomery Hotel and Conference Center, and registration is open now.

    Workers’ comp checks in the mail soon
    The ACCA staff congratulates members of the ACCA Workers’ Compensation Self-Insurers’ Fund for another great year.  Members that have successfully completed the requirements of the Safety Incentive Discount Program and submitted their signed Safety Incentive Verification Form and documentation can expect to receive their county’s safety incentive, along with their county’s board-approved investment refund, by Jan. 31.     Deadline extended for ACCMA Winter Conference
    There are a few more days to register for the 2014 ACCMA Winter Conference, Feb. 12-14 in Montgomery. The theme for the event is “Developing You!,” and organizers have planned three busy days to help you do just that. The deadline for hotel reservations at the reduced rate has been extended until Saturday. Get the details

    ONE SPOT road show
    The Alabama Department of Revenue is planning ONE SPOT question-and-answer sessions with demonstrations in different areas of the state specifically for local government. If you are interested in attending, email ONESPOT@revenue.alabama.gov and indicate how many people would like to attend. You can also email that same address if you need one-on-one assistance with the ONE SPOT system.
