  • Bronner to give RSA update
    David Bronner, head of the Retirement Systems of Alabama, has joined the agenda for the County Financial Workshop on Feb. 9-10. This promises to be a timely presentation, since it falls during the first week of the legislative session, and legislative leaders have called for changes to RSA.

    ACCA recommendations for constitutional reform
    Last week ACCA recommended changes to the Constitutional Revision Commission that would provide for county government efficiency and local decision making. These changes are a different than the things typically discussed under the heading of “home rule.” Get the details here.

    District meetings wrap up this week
    Sonny Brasfield and Mary Pons will end their whirlwind state tour this week with district meetings in Lawrence County tonight and Blount County tomorrow night.
