    Progress on debris contracts
Work continues on developing joint bid contracts on debris removal and monitoring. Counties can expect to receive a resolution on this subject in the near future.

    Logging notice implementation
Sonny Brasfield sent out this memo last week, outlining the next steps to implement the new law requiring loggers to provide notice before accessing county roads. The new law is effective July 1, although the model regulations, ordinance and enforcement plans will not be ready by that date. The memo suggests how counties might proceed until the model regulations can be finalized, presented and distributed. We anticipate holding a very important educational session during the ACCA convention in August to discuss the model regulations. Please read the attached memo carefully, discuss it with your county attorney and let us know if you have any questions. You can read a copy of the new law at http://bit.ly/2012-257
