  • Pardon our progress
ACCA is shifting to a new system for sending group emails that should be more reliable and effective. For many of you, this Hot 5 is the first message you’ve received from the new system.  Messages may continue to be sent using the old system for a few more days. Please let us know if you experience any difficulties during this transition by emailing Donna Key or calling her at 334-263-7594.

    Review ACCA webinars
ACCA is always working to serve you better, and this would be a great time to give some anonymous feedback on the legislative webinars. Take the quick online survey. Please tell us what works, what doesn’t and what could be better. Thanks for your time!

NACo annual conference filling up fast
Alabama already has 100 county officials registered for the NACo annual conference July 11-14 in New Orleans. The conference will be held at the Convention Center, and rooms at all four hotels are still available. The ACCA staff will be staying at the Hilton Riverside. The two hotels located closest to the Convention Center are the Marriott and the Embassy Suites. If you have any questions, please contact NACo directly or check with ACCA by emailing Marcia Collier or calling her at 334-263-7594.

    100% Renewals!
All 55 counties in the ACCA Liability Self-Insurance Fund Inc. renewed for 2014-2017, and ACCA is deeply grateful for your loyalty and trust!  ACCA appreciates the participation of each of the county fund members as well as other entities and looks forward to improved service in the coming years, especially as we continue our emphasis on loss-prevention programs. For information about ACCA’s insurance services, contact Henry van Arcken at 334-263-7594 or hvanarcken@alabamacounties.org.

Top quality training for jail staff members
The Alabama Jail Association has scheduled an impressive agenda for its Spring Conference next week in Montgomery. For counties in the ACCA Self-Insurance Funds working to complete the Safety Incentive Discount Program, this will mark the first training opportunity for jail staff members to get required training.
