On Capitol Hill
Nearly 90 representatives of Alabama county government are in Washington, D.C., for the NACo Legislative Conference. When visiting with members of the Alabama delegation, county leaders will be discussing these hot topics.

Batemon is on the go
In addition to lobbying Congress, county leaders are also putting in time during their trip to D.C. helping St. Clair County Chairman Stan Batemon campaign for second vice president of NACo. R u 4b8mon?

Pipeline safety training
Each year, Alabama pipelines conduct safety awareness programs around the state. These programs are about 1.5 hours in length; they are free and include a meal. The programs are for first responders, emergency personnel, excavators, road departments, heavy equipment operators, etc. Go to www.alabamapipeline.com and click on the EVENT RSVP for Excavators or EVENT RSVP for Emergency officials and scroll down to the date & location you wish to attend and then register.

ACCA needs to update its list of counties where the logging notice ordinance is in effect. Please email your county’s current status to sgowan@alabamacounties.org.
