  • Last Call for Disaster Relief 101 Class
    Wednesday is the deadline to register for the CGEI Disaster Relief 101 Class scheduled for March 21-22, 2012 at the Marriott Legends in Prattville, Ala. There are about 15 spots left. This is a special introductory class for county officials and employees, not seasoned EMA personnel. Download a copy of the class agenda.

    Pipeline Safety Training
    Engineering and Sheriff’s departments are encouraged to participate in an annual pipeline safety training program aimed at increasing knowledge on safe digging, damage prevention for underground utilities, and emergency responses regarding pipeline emergencies.     ACCA VP Preaches at NACo Legislative Conference
    ACCA First Vice President and DeKalb County Commission President Ricky Harcrow preached at a Sunday morning worship service at the NACo Legislative Conference yesterday. Commissioner Harcrow’s sermon was taken from Matthew 22.

    Discussions Continue with Forestry
    ACCA Staff and representatives of the forestry industry continued discussions last week in search of a resolution regarding legislation requiring loggers to notify counties before beginning work on county roads. We will keep you updated on any progress made.
