    1. Long Hits Ground Running

In his first week as president of the Association, Ray Long is already making good on his challenge to improve working relationships with other groups and organizations.  Last week Long met with the vice president of the Alabama League of Municipalities to discuss ways our two organizations can work together more effectively.  During his remarks at the ACCA Convention, Long asked that each ACCA member work to improve relationships within their counties and on their individual county commissions. You’ll hear more about his theme as the year marches forward.

    2. Debt-Set Off Set for 2016

The deadline for counties to register their participation in the Income Tax Refund Debt-Set Off program was Friday. A host of county commissions, county-related entities and county hospital authorities will be participating in the program during 2016.  In the coming year, the Association hopes to add all county commissions and their related entities to the program, which is now entering its second year.
