Remarks from ACCA Executive Director Sonny Brasfield

It’s time! The 2022 Legislative Session begins tomorrow. We have an ambitious agenda, anticipate a number of bills from other groups that will require our attention and are bracing for a few surprises along the way. You’ll each have the opportunity to be actively involved in a variety of ways. And we’ll need everyone–all of you, speaking with ONE voice.

This week’s need-to-know information from ACCA

    2022 Legislative Session begins tomorrow

Legislators will convene for the first day of the 2022 Legislative Session tomorrow at the Alabama State House in Montgomery. We encourage county leaders to be on the lookout for regular Goat Hill communications going forward, including the Goat Hill Glance, Goat Hill Prep and Goat Hill Alerts. Additionally, we urge county leaders to support and stay in communication with their county’s legislative committee representative. These individuals, listed here, will serve as a valuable source of legislative information. Each legislative session moves quickly and this year’s will surely be no different.

Register to attend 2022 County Days, advocate for your county on Goat Hill

County Leaders are encouraged to sign up today for ACCA’s 2022 County Days. These specialized days provide the County Family with an opportunity to gather together in Montgomery, talk with legislators face-to-face, and advocate for their respective counties and county government as a whole. We hope that you’ll make plans to attend your county’s assigned ACCA County Day. To register, simply find and click on your county’s assigned date below:

*Note: County leaders unable to attend their scheduled County Day are encouraged to participate in another County Day that fits within their schedule, as every county representative’s participation is critical.
