Remarks from ACCA Executive Director Sonny Brasfield
Do you make resolutions to start the new year? Most people say they make resolutions but admit they only keep them for a short time. Whether you make resolutions, break resolutions or simply avoid them altogether, it’s time for us to get moving in 2023. We’ve already lost an entire day!
This week’s need-to-know information from ACCA
County Family members can now listen to the December episode of ACCA’s monthly 2 North Jackson Podcast. This month’s episode features discussions between the Association’s Executive Director, Sonny Brasfield, and guest experts on growing concerns regarding State agency rulemaking, active engagement and leadership at the national level, and a unique path in county government service.
County Family members are reminded they can always access current and previous episodes of the 2 North Jackson Podcast through the ACCA website and their favorite podcast streaming app.
County Family members are encouraged to take advantage of various educational opportunities in the New Year by registering today for the 2023 slate of County Government Education Institute (CGEI) classes on ACCA’s online community. Commissioners are encouraged to view the Alabama Local Government Training Institute (ALGTI) 2023 course schedule and register as well.
To register for each class, access your respective group’s page on the ACCA online community and click on the “Events and Education” tab below the title of your group. Each class will then be listed in the “Upcoming Events” section. A video detailing the instructions above is available here. County Family members can access the 2023 CGEI class schedule, complete with class descriptions, here.
ACCA offices are closed today, January 2, in observance of the New Year. The Association offices will reopen tomorrow, January 3, at 8:30 a.m.
