The Association-supported ATRIP-2 legislation will be introduced in the House of Representatives early next month. So Alabama counties are encouraged to step up their efforts to spotlight local road needs over the next 14 days!

As discussed on Thursday’s webinar, counties are asked to utilize a new road sign graphic promoting the local money that will be produced by ATRIP-2. An updated ATRIP-2 toolkit and the graphic are now available to assist with the grassroots advocacy efforts at the local level. County leaders are urged to promote the DRIVE Alabama survey (link below) at the next commission meeting, and to use the county road sign graphic on social media for the next two weeks.

Still have questions about advocating for ATRIP-2? Take advantage of five advocacy tips provided in the link below, and contact Jeannie Gaines to access the webinar recording and corresponding materials.

Last week the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs (ADECA) released its study on the state impact of the America First federal budget proposal. If passed as written, it would eliminate seven ADECA programs that Alabama counties have relied on to create jobs, build communities and address the issues impacting some of the state’s most underserved regions. County officials are encouraged to contact their members of the U.S. House and Senate and ask them to support these critically important programs.
