PLUS…Hot 5’s HOT TIP | Using ACCA67 at the Legislative Conference

    PLUS…Key Dates This Week

    1. Represent Your County

Each year at the ACCA Legislative Conference the counties are tasked with the critical duty of adopting the County Platform, and this year is no different. This year’s vote will take place at the ACCA Business Session on December 7 at 11:30 a.m., so please make sure that there is at least one representative present from each county. If you are not sure if your county is registered for the 2018 ACCA Legislative Conference, please contact Jennifer Datcher or click here to register.

    2. County Job Listings

Among the Association’s many member benefits, the ACCA maintains an online listing of job openings provided by member counties. While some state organizations charge for this service, there is no fee for job listings on our website. Fayette County’s Assistant Engineer listing has been downloaded 110 times!

    3. Mark Your Calendar

An updated version of the ACCA 2018 Conferences and Training Calendar was released last week, so please make sure that you are using the correct calendar. This year’s calendar is packed with training opportunities, CLE credits, professional development events, and more! Our updated calendar provides you with even more training and events to serve your counties, so please click here to download.

    4. Holiday FAQs

Every year around this time there are numerous questions from members about holiday-related issues such as closing offices on additional days or providing bonuses or other gifts to county employees. Alabama law is quite specific about these practices, and the Association has prepared this 3-page primer, complete with code citations and AG opinion numbers, that have bearing on this issue. Historically the Examiners of Public Accounts have reviewed these situations carefully, and if you have any questions, you are encouraged to contact the ACCA office at 334-263-7594.
